At The Global State of Digital 2021 report, Hootsuite mentioned that “YouTube is the world’s second-most visited website” and “second-most used social platform”.
Beth Djalali, from Style at a Certain Age, started her YouTube channel in 2014 but only started creating content regularly at the end of 2017. After less than 4 years she is the perfect example of how to build a community using multiple channels with over 13,418,680 views on her channel.
“Honestly, YouTube is my favorite social platform outside of my blog as I feel “connected” to my audience in a way that doesn’t translate on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest because I’m chatting with them like old friends. And the best part is Google owns YouTube and my blog is tied directly to Google search engines. It’s great synergy as the readers that discover the blog can easily access the YouTube channel and vice versa. It’s definitely a win/win that Facebook or Instagram don’t offer. And, I can monetize both platforms with ads which is an added bonus and one more stream of income.”
Thinking that “70% of people say they bought a brand as a result of seeing it on” (Google data) a YouTube video shows you the power of conversion: you can generate more affiliate revenue and pitch new ideas to brand collabs.
