What exactly is Instagram Engagement?
Instagram Engagement is a measure of your audience interacting with your content. It is not just about the number of Followers. Engagement is measured via the number of:
- Likes
- Comments
- Shares
- Saves
- Link Clicks
- Story Swipe-ups
- DMs
- Mentions
In simple terms, the higher the engagement rate, the better. But what is a ‘high’ engagement rate, as per industry standards? The average Instagram engagement rate is between 1-2% (depending on the type of creators) although it’s certainly favourable to see higher numbers. Of course, it’s pleasing to see a high audience engagement on Instagram but that’s not it.
